Villa College and Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 27th November 2025, marking the beginning of a dynamic partnership to advance academic collaboration, research excellence, and cross-border educational opportunities between the Maldives and Malaysia.
The scope of this cooperation is extensive and prioritises the enrichment of learning experiences through the exchange of academic information and resources. Both institutions will work together on curriculum development and joint course creation to ensure educational offerings remain innovative and relevant to the evolving needs of students and industries. This partnership also facilitates student and staff mobility while enabling the joint supervision of Master's and Doctoral students through collaborative research initiatives designed to contribute to knowledge advancement and meaningful innovation across both institutions.
Villa College and Asia Pacific University are additionally committed to exploring long-term opportunities that include dual and joint degree arrangements, programme licensing, and pathways that support progression into postgraduate studies. Joint seminars, workshops, conferences, and cultural activities will further strengthen academic engagement and promote international understanding between the Maldives and Malaysia.
