On the 20th of November 2025, the Faculty of Educational Studies at Villa College marked a significant milestone with the official inauguration of the Villa College Education Society (VCES). This ceremony served as a platform to formally recognise student leadership, where the newly elected Executive Committee members received their certificates of appointment from our Rector, Dr Ahmed Anwar.
Here are the newly appointed Executive Committee (EXCO) members of the Villa College Education Society:
President: Falak Ismail
Vice President: Ahmed Athoof Mohamed
Secretary: Raaid Haamidh
Treasurer: Aiminath Sharufeena Ali
Events Coordinator: Aishath Shiana Ahmed
International Activity Coordinator: Fathimath Maya Mohamed
Media Coordinator: Mariyam Saula Waheed
The establishment of the VCES represents a firm commitment to fostering a vibrant and engaged student community, and we extend our sincere congratulations to these appointees as we anticipate the positive contributions and structural developments they are poised to make within our academic environment.
The scope of the event extended beyond local leadership to encompass global perspectives through the successful conclusion of this year's Student Mobility Programme. This initiative provided a vital forum for knowledge exchange, as participating students shared their journey with current Teaching Programme students by reflecting on the unique learning opportunities, international exposure, and professional insights they acquired. To honour their dedication, certificates of participation were awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Studies, Mr Abdul Sattar Gasim. We remain incredibly proud of these students for their achievements and the exemplary manner in which they continue to represent Villa College with excellence on various platforms.
The proceedings culminated in an inspiring closing session delivered by Rector Dr Ahmed Anwar, who offered profound insights drawn from his extensive background in the education sector. His address bridged the gap between local practice and global standards as he reflected on his own remarkable experiences abroad. Dr Anwar highlighted critical themes including the implementation of best practices in teaching, the evolution of learning methodologies, and the effective utilisation of educational resources. These concluding remarks provided essential motivation and guidance for both students and staff by reinforcing the vital importance of continuous learning and the necessity of gaining global exposure in the modern educational landscape.
